Welcome to our hotel!

A LITTLE HISTORY….NORMANDY CONQUERORS

This 17th-century building, formerly a priory, is the setting for a number of chapters in the history of Calvados that we wanted to share with you! To begin with, the manor’s name echoes the famous Battle of Hastings on 14 October 1066, which pitted the last Anglo-Saxon king of England, Harold Godwinson, against the Duke of Normandy, William the Conqueror, who won a decisive victory.

Closer to the present day, in the 20th century, during the Second World War, the site was occupied by the Germans and was one of the first buildings to be liberated during the landings (the Bénouville town hall was the 1st to be liberated in France). It was then occupied by the British army during the liberation of the Pegasus bridge. In 2023, a new page will be turned for Manoir’Hastings with the development of a charming and authentic hotel and the organisation of events.
